Accessibility / VoiceOver Support

• In addition to the existing “Speak selected item” option LaunchBar now also supports spoken feedback via VoiceOver. In the medium run the “Speak selected item” option is planned to be replaced completely in favor of VoiceOver.
• Folders and other collections of items are described with the number of contained items.
• Songs are described with title, artist and duration.

64-bit Compatibility

Note: Due to the larger pointer size of the 64-bit architecture you may notice an increased memory consumption when running applications in 64-bit mode. LaunchBar is still fully 32-bit compatible as well, so you may choose to run it in 32-bit mode for a smaller memory footprint. To run a program in 32-bit mode, right-click the program icon in Finder, choose “Get Info” and check the “Open in 32-bit mode” option.

New iCould Documents indexing rule

• This new indexing rule adds all documents that are stored in iCloud to your LaunchBar index.

Improved iTunes Support

• “Identically Named Tracks”. This new feature detects tracks with the same name but from different albums or artists. This gives you quick access to alternative recordings of the same song. They are accessible either via browsing the details of a song, or via the new “Identically Named Tracks” category.
• Fixes an issue with iTunes playback. With the the “Play from Album” option set, only the album’s first track was played.
• Improved playback of tracks with no album.

Improved Contacts Support

• Added support for linked cards.
• New: Indexing of social profiles (Twitter profiles, Facebook profiles, etc.).
• You can now quickly send tweets to selected contacts via OS X 10.8 sharing services.
• A new “Department” category automatically groups all contacts from the same department.
• Mobile phone numbers are now collected in an additional “Mobile Phone Numbers” category (but they are still listed in the regular “Phone Numbers” category).
• Mail.app’s “Previous Recipients” now have a dedicated icon to make them better distinguishable from email addresses that are contained in your address book. And they are now collected in the new “Previous Recipients” category.
• Fixes a rare crash during contacts indexing.
