What’s New in Little Snitch 7

AI Assistant

Not sure about a connection? Ask the AI Assistant right from the connection alert. It explains what a process is, why it wants to connect, and what happens if you deny it. It only runs when you ask, and no account is needed.

Control Center

Redesigned from the ground up. See your Mac’s recent network activity right from the menu bar, and temporarily allow a blocked connection to fix a stalled download on the spot.

Live Connection Log

See every connection as it happens – which app, which server, allowed or denied. Filters narrow thousands of entries down to the ones that matter.

Rules at a Glance

See exactly which rules apply to a selected connection in the connection list, right in the inspector of Network Monitor.

DNS Fallback Resolver

If your preferred DNS service is unavailable, Little Snitch automatically switches to another one. And the list of providers now shows each one’s country of jurisdiction.

DNS Metrics and Logging

Get detailed insights into your DNS resolvers, including success and failure rates, and troubleshoot DNS issues with a comprehensive resolution log.

Before You Install

  • This is pre-release software. It may contain bugs and features may still change before the final release. We don’t recommend using it on mission-critical machines.
  • Your rules are taken over. Little Snitch 7 imports your existing Little Snitch 6 rules and settings. We recommend creating a backup before upgrading.
  • Updates are automatic. New beta versions are delivered through the built-in software update. Beta versions expire a few weeks after their release.
  • You can go back at any time. To return to the current release, simply download Little Snitch 6 and install it over the beta.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I try the beta for free?
Yes. You don’t need a license to use the beta. Beta versions expire a few weeks after their release. Once Little Snitch 7 is final, you can upgrade or go back to Little Snitch 6 at any time.
What does the upgrade to Little Snitch 7 cost?
That depends on when you bought your license:
  • Purchased on April 1, 2026, or later: Your license is already valid for Little Snitch 7.
  • Purchased earlier: You can upgrade at a discounted price.
  • New users can get a license at the unchanged regular price.
Can I keep using Little Snitch 6?
Of course. Your Little Snitch 6 license remains valid, and there’s no obligation to upgrade.
