5. Installation

Sharity ships as a compressed disk image file. To decompress it, double-click the archive you downloaded. StuffIt will start and unpack it. Double-click the resulting disk image file and DiskCopy will mount the disk and open it in a window. Please follow the instructions in the Readme file on the disk image. Here is a short summary of these instructions:

Drop the "Sharity" folder into /Library/StartupItems on your Mac OS X startup volume.
Copy the Sharity application to the /Applications folder
Add the Sharity application to the Login Items in the Login section of the System Preferences.
Restart your computer.
If you have a license key, set it before any servers are mounted.

5.1 Uninstalling Sharity

Uninstalling is done similar to installing. Again, the detailled instructions are in the Readme file on the distributed disk image.

Delete the Sharity application.
Delete the Sharity folder in /Library/StartupItems on your Mac OS X startup volume.
Restart your computer.
