Trial vs. Licensed Version

All Sharity packages have a built-in trial mode and can be fully licensed. This means that you download the same package, regardless whether you have licensed or just want to try it.

Trial mode is limited to one installation, one mounted share and one user.

Upgrading

All packages can be used for a fresh install or to upgrade from a previous Sharity 3 version. Upgrading preserves your configuration changes. You cannot upgrade and preserve settings from Sharity 2, though.

How to Unpack .tar.gz

Packages in .tar.gz format are unpacked with the command

gzip -dc PKG.tar.gz | tar xf -

in a shell window. The tools gzip and tar are bundled with most modern operating systems.

If you lack one of them, download gzip from www.gzip.org or gnutar from www.gnu.org/software/tar.
